First-Class Compression Fittings

May 2003

Click thumbnail for hi-resolution image. NEWBURY PARK, CA - Hose clamps are possibly the least exciting and most utilitarian parts on a modern fuel-injected marine engine. Not to say they don't work, they just seem archaic on such a high performance machine. Especially if they're the large t-clamps found on your induction system tubing, and look suspiciously similar to the clamps used on RV septic tanks. Pi-Thon Design, Inc. has another way to seal your marine engine's induction plumbing: the Pi-Thon Induction-Lock™. Similar to patent-pending Pi-Thon Hose-locks™ for rubber, silicone or braided stainless steel hoses, the Induction-Lock™ is a billet aluminum compression fitting that connects large diameter tubing to air filters, turbochargers, throttle bodies and practically any metal or plastic tubing up to 4-inches in diameter. The basic Induction-Lock™ consists of two threaded halves and an internal compression ring. Simply slide the loosened Induction-Lock™ over your rubber or silicone joint sleeve and twist the halves together for incredible clamping force and a positive seal. Use the wider dual-ring unit for well-aligned sections of tubing or two narrow Induction-Locks™ if you need to retain flexibility at the junction. Induction-Locks™ are available in a wide variety of SAE and metric diameters, and come with an as-machined finish, brilliantly polishing, or anodized green, gold, purple, red, blue or black for maximum corrosion resistance in harsh marine environments. Toss those septic tank clamps overboard and thread on some real performance induction hardware: Pi-Thon Induction-Locks™! For more information about Induction-Locks™ for use on high performance watercraft engines, see Pi-Thon's website at www.pi-thon.com or contact Pi-Thon Design, 2520 Turquoise Circle, Unit B, Newbury Park, CA 91320. Dump The Hose Clamps

April 2003

Click thumbnail for hi-resolution image. NEWBURY PARK, CA - Motorcycle owners take great pride in their machines and work hard to make them as visually stunning as they are fast. Polished stainless steel, chrome and anodized aluminum abound on these two-wheeled works of art, and mechanical perfection is the name of the game. With that in mind, why would anyone use utilitarian hose clamps on such a vehicle? Pi-Thon Design has a much more appropriate sealing device, one that's every bit as functional as it is gorgeous. The basic Pi-Thon Hose-Lock™ is a three-piece billet aluminum compression fitting, consisting of a center compression ring and two outer body halves that thread together. When tightened, the Hose-Lock™ compression ring cinches securely around coolant hoses, low-pressure fuel lines and almost any other connection where you would normally use a conventional hose clamp. Depending on the style of your bike, choose the hi-tech cylindrical spanner style or the competition-look hex body. Pi-Thon Hose-Locks™ are available in several finishes as well, including as-machined, brightly polished or anodized in a wide variety of colors, including glossy black and gunmetal gray. Diameters range from 1/4-inch all the way to 4-inches, and are even available in custom sizes and configurations. Pi-Thon also offers two other types of precision fittings (not shown): billet aluminum Induction-Locks™ for air intake plumbing and stainless steel Fire-Locks™ for exhaust tubing. For more information about Hose-Locks™, Induction-Locks™ or Fire-Locks™, see Pi-Thon's website at www.pi-thon.com or contact Pi-Thon Design, 2520 Turquoise Circle, Unit B, Newbury Park, CA 91320. Polished stainless steel, brass and anodized aluminum abound on these floating works of art, and mechanical perfection is the name of the game. With that in mind, why would anyone use utilitarian hose clamps on such a craft? Pi-Thon Design has a much more appropriate sealing device, one that's every bit as functional as it is gorgeous. The basic Pi-Thon Hose-Lock™ is a three-piece billet aluminum compression fitting, consisting of a center compression ring and two outer body halves that thread together. Quality, Not Quantity

January 2003

NEWBURY PARK, CA - Less is more. Quality, not quantity. Statements that hold true for everything from body kits on sport compact cars to light bars on off-road trucks. Going for the clean high-tech look, Pi-Thon Design, Inc. offers a dual-ring version of its popular billet aluminum Induction-Lock™. Perfect for connecting cold air intakes to tubing, throttle-bodies to intake piping, or intercoolers to intake tubing, the patent-pending Pi-Thon 2AI Series fitting replaces two conventional hose clamps. Simply slide the 2AI Induction-Lock™ over your section of sealing hose and insert your tubing. Tighten the ends of the fitting (using a Pi-Thon aluminum spanner wrench) to cinch down the compression rings, and you're done! The Pi-Thon 2AI Induction-Lock™ is billet aircraft-quality aluminum, CNC machined to precise tolerances prior to being brightly polished or anodized in vivid red, blue, violet, gold or green. Each Pi-Thon Induction-Lock™ fitting is 100-percent U.S. made for award-winning quality, and is available in a wide variety of diameters from 2.5-inch to 4-inches. You can even use the 2AI Induction-Lock™ to make a diameter transition (ex: 2-inch intake tubing to 3-inch intercooler), inquire about custom unequal diameter units at additional cost. For more information about Pi-Thon Design 2AI Induction-Locks™, see Pi-Thon's web site at www.pi-thon.com or contact Pi-Thon Design, 2520 Turquoise Circle, Unit B, Newbury Park, CA 91320.
